Senior Graduation Ceremony Approved
Dear Big Sandy School Community,
Great news! Elbert County approved us to hold our graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 30 at 10:00 a.m. on the football field.
Graduates & Family Members
We will have our 20 graduates using proper social distancing with masks and each graduate may invite up to 2 cars with their family members to park around the field like we do for our football games.
Community Virtual Broadcast Options
For everyone else, we will be broadcasting the ceremony virtually at NFHS network. (Link will be live/available on the date)
We also have a We Are Simla Facebook Community Page live as well.
Additionally, we also have a low frequency FM transmitter for people in their cars if they can’t get the ceremony on their phones, tablets and computers or just don’t own one of those devices.
8th Grade Graduation Plans
We are working on something with the Health Department for our 8th graders to coincide with our last Friday Night Lights on May 29 at the baseball field; we have not been approved yet, but we will let everyone know one way or another.
Last Day of Lunch Pickups May 21st
Our last day to pick up school lunches will be tomorrow, Thursday, May 21. Thank you to each of the cooks and workers in the kitchen as well as each one passing the lunches out each week.
End of School Year Work Submissions & Final Locker Cleanouts
Students in the Town of Simla
Work needs to be placed in the school drop box…we will not be driving around the town today or next week.
Students outside of Town of Simla
Buses will only be picking up completed work today and next Wednesday (they will not be dropping off any more work).
